Job Description:

The Mortgage Lending Specialist is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans while delivering excellent customer service throughout the lending process. This role focuses on developing referral networks, building strong client relationships, and helping borrowers identify financing options that align with their financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Expand mortgage lending opportunities through referrals, networking activities, and relationship-building with customers, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other industry partners.
• Evaluate borrowers’ financial details, credit history, and home financing goals during client consultations.
• Provide guidance on mortgage products and clearly explain loan programs, pricing options, and qualification requirements.
• Develop and maintain long-term referral pipelines and business partnerships to ensure consistent loan origination.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage lending products, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on industry regulations and lending practices.
• Comply with all federal and state regulations, including BSA, AML, and internal company policies.
• Support a sales-oriented culture focused on customer service excellence and business growth.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, along with at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience requirements.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and residential mortgage products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
