Job Description:

The Retail Banking Assistant is a Financial Center position focused on using a consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The Personal Banker I is primarily responsible for acquiring new households and/or deepening existing customer relationships through a variety of activities, including but not limited to lobby leadership aisle time and tele-consulting. This role also includes processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Primary job responsibilities and duties:

• Embrace the consultative sales process while conducting an in-depth evaluation of the customer's financial situation to establish a detailed customer profile and pinpoint existing as well as future financial needs.
• Keep abreast of retail consumer and small business offerings to recommend relevant solutions that showcase our value proposition.
• Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing strategies to connect with customers in a proactive manner and set up appointments for periodic financial assessments.
• The key focus is on promoting complementary products to the current customers and actively taking part in external sales initiatives such as on-site Membership Advantage presentations, conducting sales meetings with businesses, participating in community events aimed at enhancing financial literacy, and more under the provided guidance.
• Establish robust connections with specified Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to direct customers effectively towards holistic financial options.
• Achieving and surpassing customer service goals and individual/team production targets to drive annual revenue growth as measured in the Financial Center P&L report.
• Provide insights to CSRs on improving their approach to sales and referrals.
• Advance customer satisfaction by offering friendly and helpful services with a touch of professionalism in all interactions.
• Act with confidence by answering customer questions and owning customer issues.
• Foster an environment of trustworthiness and dependability through the strict adherence to business confidentiality.
• Comply with the regulations laid out in the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, demonstrating ethical conduct consistently.
• Maintain adherence to the established policies and protocols when handling all Retail products.
• Take part in the consumer loan and bank card processes, overseeing the sourcing of loans from the beginning of the application to the completion of the closing.
• Perform the opening/closing responsibilities at the Financial Center or Bank Mart in accordance with the Financial Center Manager's instructions.
• Stay up to date on the retail protocols aimed at mitigating fraudulent activity and avoiding unnecessary risks.

The rudimentary level of expertise, talents, and capacities mandated:

• The decision to pursue a college degree, amass work experience with transferable skills, or blend educational and practical elements is pivotal in shaping one's employability.
• It is advantageous to have prior financial industry experience.
• Demonstrated track record of developing comfort with sales tasks focused on acquiring new consumer household and small business clients or upselling to current clients.
• The ability to showcase mastery of advanced math functions is crucial for evaluating credit and financial information thoroughly.
• It is imperative to project a professional persona and excellent communication on behalf of Fifth Third Bank.
• Proved proficiency in understanding Retail policies and procedures to demonstrate good judgment in decision-making.

Working Conditions:

• This program entails the necessity of traveling within the affiliate for training and being open to flexible scheduling.
