Transaction Specialists are expected to demonstrate proficiency in banking systems, software, and equipment to efficiently process transactions while delivering high-quality service to customers.
As a key point of contact for clients, Transaction Specialists play an important role in delivering the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure banking transactions are completed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and applicable banking regulations. This position also focuses on building and maintaining strong client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover customer needs and identify opportunities to offer additional bank products and services.
Responsibilities include:
Ensures accurate and confidential execution of financial transactions and cash-handling activities.
Performs daily operational tasks efficiently to maintain the integrity and security of the branch.
Minimizes risk by securely managing cash drawers and promptly completing accounting or fund transfers.
Engages with internal and external customers, anticipates needs, and consistently delivers proactive solutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
Maintains a thorough and up-to-date understanding of Columbia Bank’s products and services.
Identifies customer financial needs and recommends appropriate banking products and services.
Supports branch referral goals by identifying opportunities and referring customers to appropriate business partners.

Qualifications include:
High school diploma or GED required.
One year of prior banking or customer service experience preferred.
