Franchise Finance Analysts use their expertise to assess the value of commercial properties and determine their suitability for financing.
Responsibilities include helping UMB relationship managers in the evaluation and underwriting of new SBCRE managed investment loans in accordance with established underwriting policies and standards.
Maximizing Productivity Through Effective Time Management:
Partner with UMB relationship managers to perform credit underwriting duties for existing/prospective client relationships, which may include but are not limited to the following:
Determine the repayment capacity of the borrower or guarantor by conducting a thorough credit review
Appropriate loan structuring recommendations
Coordinate the compilation and submission of credit packages for review and approval by the credit committee
Underwriting document preparation involves evaluating collateral across multiple asset classes and creating pricing and risk assessment models that are tailored to meet the requirements of each credit inquiry.
Take charge of sending loan proposals to the UMB senior loan committee from relationship managers and responding to queries related to the scrutiny and sanctioning of the loan.
Upon receiving the appraisal, check to see that the assumptions within it align with the underwriting assumptions and meet all conditions for approval.
Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients, which includes direct contact with customers either through participation in joint sales calls with relationship managers or direct correspondence with clients, and perform various projects/tasks as needed with an emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE at all times.
Efficiently resolve all associated issues while completing and filing all required forms and reports in a timely manner.
Engage with teammates in loan operations, credit assessment, regional commercial banking, business banking, special asset management group, loan review, public finance, capital markets, and global banking to synchronize commercial loan determinations, the finalization process, and continuous commercial loan administration.
Take part in a variety of REG underwriting projects as they arise.
Offer assistance and guidance to REG underwriters and/or portfolio managers who are less experienced.

Eligibility for this role requires a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or an affiliated field of study
Excellent communication skills
Profound knowledge and capabilities in identifying and processing maturing loans, extending term loans, restructuring loans, approving changes, adjusting terms, and introducing new underwriting mechanisms.
Demonstrates mastery in credit underwriting across all key investment commercial real estate property types. Shows a strong understanding of bank operations, services, and product offerings
Skill in understanding policies/procedures, loan contracts, and adeptness in interpreting credit reports, financial statements, and loan documents
Necessary skills comprise proficient analytical abilities, such as assessing commercial real estate properties and markets, and examining the financial statements of guarantors that include real estate details
Having the skill to self-commence tasks, demonstrate initiative, and mentor inexperienced colleagues
Shows mastery in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and software essential for commercial lending
