Job Description:

At Regions, the Banking Relationship Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a smooth and efficient customer service interaction at the cash register by effectively assisting customers with their transactional requirements, such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments
  • Addressing customer concerns regarding products and services and performing elementary service tasks like distributing new or replacement cards, updating details, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving basic issues
  • Cultivates relationships with clients, staying knowledgeable about their engagement with the banking institution
  • Demonstrates to customers the functionality of mainstream consumer items and electronic advancements, including mobile applications, online services, and ATM features, with the goal of enhancing banking convenience
  • Supports colleagues within the team by helping with simple duties to contribute to addressing customer issues effectively
  • Utilizing provided customer and prospect lists to make outbound phone calls, educating clients on current technology advancements, and supporting them in fulfilling their financial objectives
  • The identification of complex financial goals prompts the referral of clients to an internal team with specialized expertise
  • Abides by all bank processes and laws, following instructions allocated by the Branch Manager; as part of the branch team, guarantees the practice of secure banking operations, which involves overseeing, recognizing, and disclosing operational risks
  • Attains branch objectives and goals by recognizing customer needs and providing suitable guidance and perspective on Regions' solutions

This position entails keeping a record of hours worked over 40 hours weekly and is eligible for overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act provisions.

This role includes the option to receive incentives.

Requirements:

  • Acquiring a high school diploma or GED accreditation is advantageous for further education
  • Suitability to include Saturdays in the work routine when necessary
  • Proficiency in cash management and conducting monetary transactions
  • Proficient in exchanging information in person, over the phone, and through electronic communication
  • Proficient in the regular use of a computer, including typing and long periods of screen concentration
  • Capability to move around and be in an upright position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

  • At least 12 months of experience in the banking sector, cash operations, or delivering customer service

Skills and Competencies:

  • Being skilled in conforming to prescribed rules, regulations, and guidelines
  • Competency in aiding customers with utilizing online banking features
  • Balancing multiple responsibilities at once is a valuable asset in the workplace
  • Competency in overseeing large cash sums
  • Placing a strong emphasis on understanding and meeting customer expectations, as well as fostering solid customer connections, is critical

Job Type: Full-time hours

Compensation Details:

Payment scales are oriented towards particular job roles and serve as a guideline for determining employee compensation.
