The role of Retail Banking Manager involves overseeing the operations and activities of a financial center, including managing staff and ensuring efficient customer service.

The Manager’s primary responsibility is to attain specific financial goals in terms of revenue, loan, and deposit growth by recruiting and cultivating staff to exceed their performance targets. In this capacity, the Manager is tasked with community engagement, promoting business expansion, managing expenses, and ensuring the operational integrity of the banking center.

Primary Job Functions and Obligations:

Supervises the achievement of objectives, customer service, promotional efforts, and overall functioning of the financial institution's branch:

  • Show and instruct colleagues on how to communicate the complete range of services offered by the bank, which includes both traditional services available in branches, digital tools, and resources from business partners
  • Hold frequent meetings with employees to discuss topics such as managing time effectively, improving communication abilities, tracking progress towards goals, addressing routine business matters, ensuring adherence to bank security protocols, and understanding operational policies. These interactions aim to boost the confidence, competence, and productivity of staff members
  • Hire, educate, cultivate, assess, and mentor employees to ensure they fulfill the requirements of their roles effectively
  • Make sure that individual, team, and department objectives are achieved by offering valuable suggestions and solutions based on identifying needs
  • Manage a team focused on partnerships with small businesses, corporations, institutions, as well as mortgage and financial advisors
  • Support consumers in applying for loans: request loan applications; stay informed about loan regulations and processes; manage the consumer loan portfolio for branch(es); train employees to efficiently manage and promote consumer loan applications
  • Accountable for fostering the expansion of current and establishing fresh small business banking connections in the region by engaging with clients directly
  • Preserve a superior level of customer contentment through the preservation and enhancement of actively involved employees
  • Make sure that all departmental paperwork and tasks adhere to relevant laws, rules, and regulations, along with the necessary policies and procedures for this role, including the fulfillment of mandatory compliance education
  • Execute customer inquiries and transactions with a pleasant and precise approach, maintaining professionalism and initiating authentic interactions to discover requirements and propose suggestions
  • Carry out additional tasks and obligations as designated

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in exchanging and spreading information effectively and consistently
  • Proficiency in overseeing and guiding a successful sales procedure alongside fostering exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Embrace and effectively guide a team through the rapidly changing landscape of the banking industry
  • Skill in effectively inspiring and communicating information in intimate settings with individuals or small groups, for the purpose of engaging customers, clients, or colleagues within the company
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • A preference for candidates with a BS/BA degree or relevant professional experience
  • At least two and up to four years of supervisory background
  • This role necessitates enrollment with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)

  • Occasional trips are required for attending meetings, receiving training, and providing assistance during bank conversions and acquisitions, with only minimal instances of overnight stays or travel outside the local area
