Job Description:

The Centralized Commercial Lending Renewal Team is in need of a Commercial Underwriter who will assess business loan requests following the Bank's set regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate cash flow statements and Moody's spreads, whether they are created internally or by the Credit Analyst. Perform thorough examinations of financial data to make a suggestion for endorsing or rejecting new loan applications based on the Bank's guidelines. Draft a Credit Origination Memorandum that is straightforward and brief, highlighting the positives, challenges, and factors that can reduce risks.
• Examine, assess, and scrutinize financial and relevant information to ascertain the trustworthiness of potential borrowers and the validity of individual loan applications. Work closely with Relationship Managers and management to compile essential details required for thorough and precise evaluations of loan suitability.
• Generate comprehensive credit approval paperwork that includes thorough evaluations and detection of credit problems and uncertainties. Analyze and explain financial records, tax filings, and estimates with the help of Excel for better comprehension.
• Offer guidance on arranging loans and suggest alternative frameworks suitable for various financial dealings.
• Operate in a fast-paced setting, achieving or surpassing Service Level Agreements and turnaround objectives by delivering prompt credit determinations.
• Carry out individual tasks concerning credit subjects and concerns at the behest of Bank Credit departments.
• Maintain the Bank's culture of relationship banking by consistently engaging with internal partners, delivering excellent customer service, and showcasing in-depth product expertise.
• Fulfill additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary, or an equivalent blend of educational background and practical work experience is acceptable.
• Hands-on expertise in evaluating commercial credit applications for a period spanning from three (3) to five (5) years.

• Essential comprehension of assessing commercial creditworthiness for lending purposes.
• Proficiency in engaging with various client, employee, and leadership tiers.
• Thriving in a work setting that operates under strict time constraints and requires collaboration.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel proficiency.
• Skilled at maintaining organization, showing attention to details, and proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capability to operate autonomously and reach informed conclusions.
• Proficient abilities in expressing ideas clearly and effectively through writing and speaking.
• Comprehension of fundamental banking procedures and familiarity with deposit, small enterprise, investment, and insurance offerings.
• Familiarity with Moody's CreditLens is desired.
• Preference for familiarity with nCino is desired.
