Job Description:

As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for assessing, managing, and supporting the credit needs of clients while providing exceptional service. This role focuses on evaluating credit applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting Relationship Bankers in delivering financial solutions. Credit Officers engage with clients, internal teams, and business partners to facilitate loan decisions, mitigate risk, and contribute to overall business growth.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Educate clients on the full suite of the bank’s credit products and related financial solutions, including in-branch, digital, and partnership-based offerings.
• Achieve individual and branch goals by proactively reviewing credit applications, communicating with clients, and coordinating with Relationship Bankers and other teams.
• Evaluate all credit requests, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with BSA, CIP, and internal credit policies.
• Support consumer and commercial loan processes by gathering information, reviewing creditworthiness, and assisting with loan account management.
• Identify client financial needs and refer them to appropriate specialists, including Relationship Bankers, mortgage advisors, or business banking teams.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing professional guidance and clear communication throughout the credit process.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure all tasks comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and internal procedures, including mandatory compliance training.
• Respond to client inquiries professionally and provide recommendations aligned with their financial needs.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and communication skills for presenting credit information to clients, colleagues, and internal teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused, fast-paced banking environment.
• Capable of guiding and mentoring staff according to established processes and protocols when necessary.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 12 months experience in customer-facing or credit-related roles.
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) is required for certain credit functions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to leverage social media and digital platforms to enhance client engagement and business insights.

Other Qualifications:

• Occasional travel for meetings, training, or supporting bank conversions and acquisitions, with minimal overnight stays.
• Ability to provide guidance and support to other banking institutions within the market.
