Manages the branch's day-to-day operations, responsible for its overall success by improving customer and employee experiences, amplifying digital engagement, streamlining transactions and operations, providing exceptional service, driving sales, and achieving personal production targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Driving the branch's overall profitability through effective sales direction, business development tactics, and successful operational goal fulfillment.
• Directs the team through coaching, performance appraisals, and organizing tasks by importance. Enhances and fosters the development of branch employees.
• Recognizes Retail and Business Banking customer needs by following the M&T sales processes, utilizing tools and resources to provide customers with short and long-term assistance.
• Proactively expands Business Banking relationships through outreach activities, driving growth and development. Enhances the bank's community engagement and visibility through proactive networking.
• Selects employees through interviews in line with the staffing model.
• Acts as a role model and mentor in customer service and identifying needs behaviors. Upholds and ensures accountability for the implementation of the Retail strategy.
• Compliance with operational and business banking guidelines is crucial for maintaining security and control measures. Preventing fraud and protecting customer assets necessitate adherence to operational standards and regulatory requirements within the banking industry.
• Handles challenging account servicing and error resolution matters, particularly those escalated by other Bankers. Offers coaching and assistance to improve and mitigate future resolution challenges and escalations.
• Interacts with team members and business partners appropriately.
• Manages Business Banking loan requests up to $100,000 on an individual basis. Proactively combines relevant products and services.
• Adheres to operational risk controls as specified by Company and regulatory protocols.

• Follows M&T internal control procedures, promptly executing internal and external audit findings and addressing any concerns raised by external regulators where applicable.
• Carries out miscellaneous duties as required.
• Oversees the customary duties of a manager regarding staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary suggestions, performance management, and terminations.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Reporting to a Retail Regional Manager, this position requires leading the branch team in meeting annual sales and profitability goals, with a solid working knowledge of branch operations.

• The responsibility of Branch Managers includes establishing and maintaining adherence to the federal registration standards specified in the SAFE Act.
• Branch Managers must stay current on operational, product, and system changes/enhancements, as well as demonstrate good risk management decisions. In addition, Insurance licensing minimum expectations must be maintained as outlined in MTS Licensed Banker Academy document. Business Banking Specialist minimum expectations will be set by both the Branch and Retail Regional Manager.
• In their role, Branch Managers have the dual responsibility of looking after existing customers while also prioritizing business growth through proactive sales tactics and external outreach activities.
• Branch Managers are responsible for building productive partnerships with appropriate areas of the bank to ensure customer needs, service issues, and employee issues are resolved timely and accurately. Branch Managers are responsible for taking full ownership of customer issues until they are completely resolved.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

• Branch Managers typically have a direct line of reporting with branch staff.

The credentials and practical experience expected for a certain role:

• Although a Bachelor's degree is desired, candidates can substitute it with four years of relevant experience. It is essential to have a minimum of three years of sales experience, along with at least two years of managerial experience or proven leadership skills.
• Obtaining Life/Accident and Health Insurance licenses is a prerequisite within 18 months of entry into the position at the discretion of the Market Manager or branch stipulations. The branch ensures licensing training is completed within the first 6 months.
• The title of M&T Business Banking Specialist is reachable within 18 months of commencing employment.
• Displayed expertise in business banking products, services, and client relationship management.

• The desired qualifications for this position include being certified in Precision Leadership and having a preference for bilingual individuals, with a focus on Spanish fluency
• Capable of working with widely-used PC software, notably Microsoft Office applications for creating and organizing content.
• Those with a history of using internet and email are preferred.
