Job Description:

At Regions, the Personal Banking Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintains a positive and consistent customer service encounter at the cash line by adeptly assisting customers with their transactional needs, including deposits, withdrawals, and routine payments
• Responding to customer inquiries about products and services and meeting basic servicing needs such as issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving basic issues
• Creates partnerships with clients, maintaining a good grasp of their connection with the financial institution
• Instructs customers on traditional consumer products and digital solutions such as mobile apps, online platforms, and ATM features, all geared towards improving the efficiency of banking activities
• Facilitates customer issue resolution by assisting team members with basic tasks in branches
• Conducting outbound phone conversations with customers and potential leads from generated lists, sharing insights on new technology advancements, and aiding them in managing their financial obligations
• Referrals to an internal team of experts are made when customers express more complex financial objectives
• Observes all banking processes and regulations, carrying out delegated tasks assigned by the Branch Manager; participates as an integral member of the branch team in upholding reliable banking practices, which involves managing, recognizing, and reporting operational risks
• Accomplishes branch goals and targets through identifying customer needs and providing relevant guidance and perspective on Regions' solutions

This position entails keeping a record of hours worked over 40 hours weekly and is eligible for overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act provisions.

Eligibility for bonuses is a feature of this job.

Requirements:

• Securing a high school diploma or a GED equivalency is necessary for many career opportunities
• Accommodating Saturdays into the work schedule as needed
• Proficiency in cash management and conducting monetary transactions
• Versatility in engaging in conversations through face-to-face discussions, phone calls, and online communication
• Capacity to utilize a computer on a frequent basis, which includes typing and prolonged attention to a screen
• Proficiency in walking and standing for extended periods of time without difficulty
• Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

• Required qualifications include one year of experience in banking, customer service, or cash transactions

Skills and Competencies:

• Being skilled in conforming to prescribed rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Expertise in assisting individuals with digital banking tools
• Managing multiple tasks simultaneously demonstrates efficiency and organization
• Expertise in monitoring large sums of cash
• Emphasizing customer needs and adeptly nurturing customer interactions are essential attributes

Compensation Details:

Pay scales are tailored to particular job positions and are utilized as a reference point for compensation deliberations. Individual employees' pay within the same role can differ based on factors such as experience, competencies, knowledge, contribution, location, and importantly, job performance.
