Loan Development Specialist

Within Regions, the Loan Development Specialist is tasked with coordinating the origination of residential mortgage loans through a branch network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Executes the filling out of mortgage applications to forward to the loan processing and underwriting sections
• Assesses loan inquiries, analyzes financial information, and gauges the appropriateness of collateral and the creditworthiness of clients
• Ensures ongoing contact with the borrower, updating them on the loan's progress and securing required paperwork
• Crafting loan arrangements in accordance with recognized lending practices and Federal mandates
• Craft an in-depth marketing and operational scheme detailing the identities of potential and existing loan clients, real estate agents, builders, developers, and other key stakeholders, with a specified frequency for communication
• Handling customer communications through phone conversations and in-person meetings to explore various loan products and qualification particulars
• Executes sales communication with potential or existing customers in accordance with the Regions marketing plan to cultivate new clientele or ensure client retention
• Proposes the purchase of diverse bank offerings and solutions
• Assesses surveys and appraisals, followed by implementing corrective actions to resolve encroachments and violations
• Use networking in professional, business, and community settings as a means to showcase and market loan products

Requirements:

• Attaining a high school diploma or GED opens doors to various possibilities in the job market
• One year of practical experience in mortgage lending, showcasing successful mortgage origination
• Extensive history in the mortgage domain centered on fostering external business growth by leveraging referral partnerships with industry professionals like real estate agents, builders, and financial advisors

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree
• Past role involving Mortgage Loan Officer responsibilities

Skills and Competencies:

• Good organizational skills
• Skilled in comprehending different mortgage products, platforms, terminology, taxation rules, and programs designed to assist with down payments.
• Acquainted with agency and investor regulations and specifications
• Establishing and managing relationships within and outside the organization is key to delivering superior service
• Proficiently handling multiple competing responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines is a vital competency
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs
• Sales acumen
• Proficiency in conveying ideas through writing and speaking
