Job Description for Banking Product Specialist:

Provide outstanding, accurate, and timely service to customers in a retail banking environment by processing financial transactions and assisting with account openings. The Banking Product Specialist introduces bank products and services to potential clients and offers personalized recommendations to existing customers to strengthen relationships. This role contributes to achieving sales and referral goals, participates in outbound sales efforts, and supports banking center management as needed.

Qualifications for Banking Product Specialist:

• Requirements include holding a high school diploma or a GED for educational credentials.
• One year of working as a Teller is the preferred level of experience.
• Fulfilling the credit check criteria is pivotal for successfully completing the background validation.

Sales and Service:

• Assist tellers and clients promptly to optimize service delivery and minimize waiting periods.
• Administer teller activities that involve handling deposits, withdrawals, currency transactions, and check cashing.
• Create and service a variety of deposit accounts, including checking, savings, IRAs, certificates of deposit, and money market accounts.
• Employ consultative conversations to ascertain client needs and suggest suitable banking offerings.
• Strengthen client partnerships by promoting cross-product sales and making introductions to affiliated banks, thereby boosting business growth and fostering long-term customer relationships.
• Participate in special promotions for deposits and loans by making regular outbound calls to clients and prospects.
• Offer support to individuals completing personal and retail consumer loan applications and facilitate the handover of approved forms to the relevant staff member.

Client Experience:

• Conduct research to identify and resolve client problems and provide updates on account information when requested.
• Ensure that client interactions are consistently professional, positive, and reliable.
• Provide immediate and efficient solutions to client queries and issues.
• Deepen your familiarity with products and services by joining sales briefings, educational workshops, and internet-based tutorials.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Comply with all necessary banking regulations, policies, protocols, and internal oversight structures.
• Ensure adherence to both risk management standards and the Code of Ethics established by First Horizon.
• Maintain compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 as well as any related regulatory stipulations.

Operational Efficiency:

• Support personnel at banking centers in carrying out their operational functions, including overseeing audit checks.
• Support the on-the-job development of new associates in the management of banking centers.
• Keep yourself up-to-date on operational changes and procedural updates to ensure continuous compliance.
• Undertake any other duties as deemed necessary.

Computer and Office Skills:

• Competence in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Skilled in the operation of office and banking equipment, including a 10-key calculator and coin counting machines.
