Job Overview:

The Mortgage Consultant role involves originating residential mortgage loans while delivering exceptional client service throughout the entire lending process. This position focuses on building referral networks, maintaining strong client relationships, and helping borrowers identify financing solutions aligned with their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate mortgage lending opportunities through referrals, networking, and relationship building with clients, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other partners.
• Meet with prospective borrowers to assess financial profiles, credit history, and home financing needs.
• Present mortgage solutions and clearly explain loan programs, pricing structures, and qualification requirements.
• Develop and maintain long-term referral relationships to support consistent loan origination.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay current with industry regulations and lending practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including BSA, AML, and internal policies.
• Support a sales- and service-driven culture focused on customer satisfaction and business growth.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, with at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other residential mortgage products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
