Job Summary: CRA Lending Specialist

The CRA Lending Specialist is tasked with a diverse set of responsibilities linked to the commencement of residential initial mortgage loans as referred from outside sources. Attains defined sales objectives and cross-selling targets laid out by management. This position is accountable for overseeing the entire residential mortgage loan process from the point of application through to the conclusion of the closing process. Assumes responsibility and answerability for risk by engaging in open dialogue to exchange ideas and concerns, and by adhering to prescribed policies and procedures.

Skills Required:

• Completion of high school or its equivalent is a necessity, and a four-year college degree is advantageous.
• Familiarity with standard or regulatory borrowing principles.
• Familiarity with the steps required for the processing, underwriting, and closing of residential mortgage applications.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Effective abilities in expressing ideas through writing and speech.
• Displayed teamwork and customer care expertise through practical examples.
• Proven computer skills.
• Foundational sales strategy expertise.
• Fierce determination to succeed in a cutthroat atmosphere.

Fundamental roles and tasks:

• Build a network of referrals by engaging with professionals such as real estate agents, builders, and personal associates.
• Stay up to date on the guidelines and protocols of Fifth Third Mortgage Company.
• Stay informed about the range of loan offerings, processing processes, and underwriting criteria as well as departmental policies.
• Comply with the specified protocol in cases of escalation deviations.
• Collect applicant submissions by completing the Fannie Mae form 1003 electronically.
• Employ the laptop for communication purposes and to navigate through daily interest rates, evaluate credit reports of applicants, analyze Loan Prospector replies, and forward the loan to LOMAS.
• Gather the required documentation from each applicant and deliver the loan package within the specified time frames determined by the management.
• Oversee the flow of loans from creation to completion and compile essential operational records.
• Maintain communication with branches and/or applicants to provide them with regular updates and reports on the status of their requests.
• Ensure top-notch customer service is delivered while handling the expectations of each applicant and support team members.
• Make sure to attend and actively take part in all necessary meetings related to Consumer Lending, as per management's instructions.
