Job Description:

Atlantic Union Bank is currently seeking Mortgage Bankers for the Tidewater Market in Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of active Mortgage Loan Officer experience, along with established relationships and proven performance within a defined market.

Position Accountabilities:

• Assist clients with mortgage applications via phone, mail, and in-person consultations while ensuring proper disclosure approvals
• Ensure all required application fields and third-party information are completed prior to approval
• Determine appropriate loan program placement including FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and other options
• Price loans and lock interest rates in accordance with company policies
• Review returned applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
• Run Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings and evaluate required documentation
• Develop pre-qualification guidelines based on company policies
• Order credit reports, appraisals, and title searches
• Maintain consistent communication with clients and referral partners
• Guide borrowers through the loan process and respond to inquiries promptly
• Ensure timely submission of loan files and coordinate with processing teams
• Monitor loan pipeline and track progress to meet deadlines
• Support processors and internal stakeholders throughout the loan process
• Meet or exceed production goals and performance standards
• Attend loan closings when applicable
• Develop annual business plans and engage regularly with sales leadership
• Stay updated on market trends, real estate conditions, and regulatory changes
• Maintain professionalism in alignment with company policies

Organizational Relationship:

• Reports to Sales Manager or Branch Manager

Position Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of two years of mortgage lending or related industry experience required
• NMLS registration required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to generate independent leads and develop new business opportunities
• Strong client relationship management abilities
• Knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, processors, and internal teams
