Banking Portfolio Manager

Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a Banking Portfolio Manager within the Commercial Real Estate Group (CREG) to handle duties like underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management for acquisition, value-add/bridge, and construction loans across various asset classes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the RM in arranging, evaluating, and handling loans for non-owner-occupied commercial real estate in accordance with the Bank's established guidelines and policies.
• Assist the Relationship Manager in managing client relationships and legal matters by liaising with internal departments like credit assessment and commercial support teams.
• Analyzing and delineating preliminary assessment records, formal loan certification records, alterations, yearly examinations, and modifications to risk assessment.
• The ongoing management of portfolios involves the tracking of financial reporting, monitoring covenant compliance, and adjusting risk evaluations as necessary.
• Meet the Bank's regulatory and credit demands to ensure compliance.
• Conduct additional administrative duties and specific projects to meet the needs of a client portfolio.

Qualifications:

• The job specification mandates either a bachelor's degree or a blend of education and relevant experience.
• This role calls for a candidate with a solid track record in commercial banking, ideally between 5 and 10 years, and with hands-on experience managing commercial real estate portfolios for at least 2 years.
• Capable underwriting performance, Excel modeling expertise, and proficient business writing skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Expertise in scrutinizing personal, company, and fund financial statements.
• Proficient in interpreting and applying credit policy and procedures and proficient in evaluating the risk level of loans/credits effectively.
• Formulate solutions for dealing with troubled credit accounts.
• Possesses a strong grasp of treasury operations and derivative instruments, demonstrating the finesse in coordinating the Bank's resources to provide effective full-suite solutions to the company.
