Senior Auditor-Audit Analytics

Job Overview:

The DA Senior Auditor is expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of data analytics and related technologies to support the audit plan and program. This role involves utilizing advanced data analysis techniques to enhance audit efficiency and insight, analyzing enterprise data to meet audit objectives, developing automation tools for audit processes, supporting ad-hoc analytics needs, and contributing to the growth of the Internal Audit Data Analytics program.

This position reports to the Director of the Audit Analytics Team. The DA Senior Auditor is responsible for supporting and assisting in the development of the Internal Audit Data Analytics program, supporting the execution of internal audit work through data analytics, and creating process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support data analytics efforts for internal audit programs, including scope development, planning, execution, and reporting.
• Collaborate with audit teams to identify new opportunities to leverage data analytics within audit projects.
• Effectively communicate data analysis results to business owners and represent the Internal Audit department professionally.
• Provide complete and accurate data analytics documentation in accordance with Internal Audit documentation standards.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Develop and execute data analytics test work for audits by understanding audit areas, data sources, audit objectives, and testing requirements. Deliver agreed-upon analytics tasks from planning sessions and respond to ad hoc audit requests. Develop, debug, and refine code or scripts to produce accurate, repeatable analytics routines. Prepare workpapers using Audit Analytics methodologies and templates, and self-validate results to ensure accuracy and alignment with audit objectives.
• Program Development and Management: Provide timely updates to the Audit Analytics Manager regarding deliverable timelines and proactively escalate risks related to delivery or potential findings.
• Relationship Development: Build strong relationships with audit peers across assigned audit pillars to gain insights, build trust, and foster collaborative partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in accounting, internal audit, or finance; or
• High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in accounting, internal audit, or finance.

Preferred Area of Study:

• Business, Finance, Accounting, or other directly related field.

Licenses or Certifications:

• Possession of, or progress toward, a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, and process automation.
• Strong understanding of audit processes and methodologies.
• Financial services industry experience preferred; Big 4 audit or assurance experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages or tools, including SQL, Visual Basic, HTML, Java, C/C++, SAS, Python, R, Oracle SQL Developer, IBM Netezza, MS SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, and other Business Intelligence
