The core responsibility of the Mortgage Lending Specialist includes cultivating mortgage loans and boosting business for the bank by establishing connections with real estate agents, builders, and title companies.

Key Job Responsibilities: Primary duties and tasks central to the role:

• Engages in the inception of mortgage loan applications.
• Works to reach mutual terms and interest rates for the loans.
• Collects vital customer information and offers informed suggestions on product selections.
• Ensures regulatory compliance by delivering the requisite disclosures and notices to customers regarding their mortgages.
• Confirms the establishment of fixed interest rate agreements with investors.
• Keeps watch over the pipeline to protect the bank's interests from interest rate variations.
• Verifies that all departmental paperwork and tasks are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, rules, policies, and procedures, including completion of required compliance training.
• Carries out further responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

Skills:

• Skill in deciphering and interpreting documents such as manuals, business communications, and government policies.
• Ability to read, assess, and interpret financial reports and legal papers.
• Ability to craft standard reports and professional written business documents.
• Aptitude to generate written replies addressing customer concerns, legal entities, or business connections.
• Competence in conveying information clearly and engagingly during personal and small group interactions, including interactions with customers, clients, and internal team members.

Education And/Or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• NMLS license required.
