Job Overview:

A Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for generating and managing residential mortgage loan applications while providing excellent client service throughout the home financing process. This role focuses on building strong referral networks, guiding borrowers through loan options, and ensuring a smooth and compliant lending experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop mortgage lending opportunities by building relationships with referral sources such as real estate agents, builders, title companies, and clients.
• Meet with prospective borrowers to evaluate financial profiles, credit history, and home financing needs.
• Present and explain mortgage products, loan programs, pricing structures, and qualification requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with referral partners to ensure a consistent flow of loan opportunities.
• Stay current on mortgage products, lending guidelines, regulatory requirements, and market conditions.
• Provide high-quality customer service throughout the entire mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in training and ongoing education to remain updated on industry standards and compliance practices.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and internal regulations, including BSA and AML requirements.
• Support a sales-driven, customer-focused culture that promotes business growth and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, along with at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other residential lending programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
