Job Summary:

The Commercial Banking Officer delivers personalized financial solutions by assisting clients with everyday banking needs, managing accounts, and recommending appropriate products and services tailored to their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Establish and maintain a consistent SBA business development cadence, including:
• Creating call plans and monitoring follow-up activities
• Conducting client retention and new client prospecting calls
• Making outbound calls to connect with prospects and clients
• Participating in networking events
• Expand and strengthen a Center of Influence (COI) network of key community and business leaders to drive referral opportunities
• Oversee sales functions, perform credit evaluations, structure loans, prepare and submit SBA loan packages, conduct client meetings, and assess individual characteristics
• Develop and cultivate new business relationships to support growth and success

Credit Expertise:

• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of business credit solutions, including:
• Structuring terms and offerings aligned with business needs, asset lifecycle, and growth strategies
• Analyzing financial statements and tax returns to assess creditworthiness and risk for individuals and businesses
• Identifying short- and long-term credit requirements based on business cycles and expansion plans
• Educating prospective clients on bank underwriting criteria, SBA programs, and relevant regulatory standards
• Collaborating with attorneys, loan closers, and internal teams to ensure timely loan closing and funding
• Balancing business priorities with client needs while managing risk exposure
• Adhering to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards
• Mentoring junior SBA lending professionals to support their growth
• Ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, and OFAC
• Reviewing loan applications, gathering necessary client information, and maintaining fair lending practices
• Managing client inquiries professionally and escalating unresolved issues appropriately

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; finance-related college degree preferred
• Minimum of five years of direct experience in SBA lending preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or financial services required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
