Job Summary:Business Banking Officer

Business Banking Officers at UMB are experts in building strong client relationships and recommending tailored financial solutions. Using product knowledge and every interaction, they help businesses achieve financial stability and growth while making banking easy and efficient.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Use personalized questioning strategies to turn routine transactions, account maintenance, and service requests into cross-selling opportunities that strengthen client relationships.
• Proactively generate sales leads by contacting prospects, visiting businesses to present workplace banking services, and building referral networks.
• Effectively balance multiple priorities while achieving daily performance goals.
• Follow standardized procedures for processing transactions, managing cash registers, and completing banking documentation in compliance with industry and legal standards.

Requirements:

• Thrives in a high-energy, sales-focused team environment, using coaching and feedback to improve performance.
• Applies strong product knowledge and communication skills to meet diverse client needs and positively impact financial outcomes.
• Communicates effectively, projects a positive image, and enjoys solving challenges to deliver beneficial results.
• Demonstrates attention to detail in documentation and explanation of features and benefits.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of retail or customer-facing experience with product recommendations and sales impact preferred.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work branch hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
• Eligibility to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days if required.
