The Centralized Commercial Lending Renewal Team has a vacancy for a Loan Underwriter who will be responsible for examining business loan applications based on the established policies and procedures of the Bank.

Responsibilities of Loan Underwriter:

• Analyze cash flow statements and Moody's spreads, regardless of whether they are self-prepared or prepared by the Credit Analyst. Engage in an in-depth examination of financial data to provide guidance on the approval or rejection of new loans following Bank procedures. Develop a clear and concise Credit Origination Memorandum that highlights strengths, weaknesses, and measures to address risks.
• Review, analyze, and assess financial and relevant data to determine the creditworthiness of loan prospects and the appropriateness of specific loan applications. Partner with Relationship Managers and leadership to gather all essential information required for accurate and complete loan evaluations.
• Produce detailed credit approval paperwork that includes in-depth analysis and identification of credit issues and risks. Employ Excel to spread and interpret financial statements, tax returns, and projections for a comprehensive review.
• Advise on strategies for structuring loans and provide recommendations on alternative setups for transactions.
• Operating in a fast-paced setting, achieving or surpassing Service Level Agreements and turnaround goals by ensuring timely credit decisions.
• Engage independently in specialized projects relating to credit topics at the request of Bank Credit teams.
• Support the Bank's commitment to relationship banking by maintaining continuous communication with internal partners, offering high-quality customer service, and possessing extensive knowledge about the products available.
• Perform supplementary tasks as requested.

Requirements for Loan Underwriter:

• A Bachelor's degree is compulsory, or an equivalent integration of educational accomplishments and hands-on experience is advantageous.
• Proficient in conducting commercial credit assessments for a period of three (3) to five (5) years.

Proficiency / Talents / Skills / Education / Systems:

• Primary knowledge of the underwriting criteria for commercial credit applications.
• Proficient in interacting with clients, staff, and executives across the board.
• Being effective in a team environment that operates within strict time constraints.
• Demonstrates a high level of competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrates efficiency in multitasking, precision in organizing, and skilled in meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in operating independently and forming sound decisions.
• Skillful in written and verbal communication, enabling clear and concise expression of ideas.
• Familiarity with general banking operations and comprehension of deposit, small business, investment, and insurance choices.
• Expertise in Moody's CreditLens is beneficial.
• Having prior exposure to nCino is beneficial.
