The role of the Loan Consultant at Regions involves guiding the initiation of residential mortgage loans from borrowers across a branch network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Undertakes the task of finalizing mortgage applications for processing by the loan processing and underwriting departments
• Analyzes loan applications, assesses financial data, and determines the eligibility of collateral and the credit history of applicants
• Communicates regularly with the loan client, informing them about the loan's status and acquiring necessary documentation
• Tailoring loans to meet the standards of acceptable lending practices and national regulations
• Formulate an intricate marketing and business proposal that lists the identities of potential and current loan seekers, real estate agents, contractors, developers, and more, while also outlining a systematic method for frequent engagement
• Fielding customer queries through calls and face-to-face interactions, focusing on loan products and eligibility details
• Performs sales calls to potential or current clients based on the Regions marketing plan in order to generate new opportunities or sustain ongoing partnerships
• Offers related bank products and services to customers
• Analyzes feedback and valuations, then undertakes necessary steps to address encroachments and violations effectively
• Take advantage of professional and community affiliations for the promotion and marketing of loan solutions

Requirements:

• Earning a high school diploma or GED demonstrates academic proficiency and dedication to learning
• Established track record in mortgage lending over a year by consistently achieving mortgage production targets
• Significant experience in the mortgage realm, emphasizing the expansion of external business relationships through referrals from key market stakeholders like real estate agents, builders, and financial planners

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree
• Prior background in Mortgage Loan Officer duties

Skills and Competencies:

• Good organizational skills
• Proficient in mortgage varieties, structures, terminology, tax prerequisites, and programs that aid in making down payments.
• Having a good understanding of agency and investor regulations and requirements
• Building and preserving internal and external partnerships is necessary to maintain excellent service delivery
• Being adept at multitasking, managing conflicting priorities, and meeting stringent timelines is imperative
• Competent in working with Microsoft Office tools
• Sales acumen
• Demonstrates strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms
