Retail Banker

Job Description:

A Retail Banker delivers personalized financial solutions by assisting clients with their daily banking needs, managing account openings and maintenance, and recommending appropriate banking products and services.

Business Development:

• Quickly establish a consistent flow for SBA business growth, covering key aspects such as:
• Strategizing calls and tracking follow-up actions
• Conducting client retention calls
• Prospecting new clients
• Initiating outbound calls to engage with prospects and clients
• Participating in networking events
• Developing and strengthening a mature Center of Influence (COI) network of community and business leaders to drive referrals
• Managing sales operations, evaluating credit, structuring loans, preparing and submitting SBA loan packets, conducting client meetings, and assessing character traits
• Building and fostering new business relationships to expand your professional network

Credit Acumen:

• Demonstrates proficiency in business credit facilities, including:
• Designing tailored terms and offerings aligned with business needs, asset life cycles, and growth strategies
• Analyzing business and personal financial statements and tax returns to assess creditworthiness and risk
• Evaluating short- and long-term credit needs based on business sales cycles and projected growth
• Educating prospective clients on bank underwriting standards, SBA programs, and applicable regulatory frameworks
• Facilitating coordination among attorneys, loan closing specialists, and internal staff to ensure timely loan closing and funding
• Balancing business requirements with customer expectations while managing risk exposure
• Adhering to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards
• Mentoring junior SBA lending professionals to enhance their development
• Complying with all bank policies and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, and OFAC
• Processing loan applications and collecting essential applicant information while maintaining fair lending practices and ethical sales standards
• Addressing customer concerns professionally and escalating unresolved issues appropriately

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• College degree in a finance-related field is preferred
• Minimum of five years of direct experience in SBA lending is preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or financial services
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in using desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
