Job Summary: Franchise Credit Analyst 

Franchise Credit Analysts support the revenue growth and asset quality of the commercial lending line of business by participating in new client relationship development activities, functioning as part of the lending partnership, monitoring existing client relationships, and managing credit risk to ensure that loans are quality assets and well-structured to mitigate portfolio risk. They understand the nature of the businesses and industries served, promote and support the bank’s loan policies, credit culture, and strategic initiatives, and examine, evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of customer applications for commercial loans while effectively managing a commercial loan portfolio.

Franchise Credit Analysts employ powerful analytical skills, a comprehensive grasp of business finance, and extensive industry acumen to propose and offer solutions that satisfy customer requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review the financial records of both current and potential customers to evaluate their financial situation and repayment ability, undertake periodic and annual assessments, ensure adherence to loan terms, and make changes to agreements when necessary.
  • Thoroughly explore all available credit and financial information channels, like reporting services, credit bureaus, and trade sources, while understanding the market and industry where the customer operates.
  • Review the security presented for a loan and interact with borrowers and financial specialists as necessary.
  • Compile and present financial data, sector information, economic impacts, and market changes in required layouts, interpreting indicators, shifts, and cash movements.
  • Construct detailed and perceptive credit assessments that outline risks, sources of repayment, policy exceptions, and collateral appraisals.
  • Advising on risk appetite, policy adherence, and exceptions involves having a thorough understanding of credit culture and loan policy.
  • Demonstrate expertise in handling a variety of loan types, including challenging borrower scenarios, and skillfully negotiate loan terms with the assistance of Commercial Bankers.
  • Ensure that loan agreements are thorough and accurate according to approvals to facilitate timely loan closure and funding.
  • Regulate loan portfolios to ensure they meet the specified terms and comply with the regulations outlined in the loan documentation.
  • Take a proactive approach in identifying emerging trends and weaknesses to minimize exposure, mitigate credit risk, and manage delinquency and loss effectively.
  • Observe borrower conformity, repayment tracking, covenant oversight, documentation, and conduct regular borrower evaluations.
  • Make conscientious decisions when exercising delegated lending authority.
  • Assist the Special Assets Department in managing distressed loans by monitoring loan repayment plans and minimizing charge-offs.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions, industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and analytical tools.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Collaborate with different teams to guarantee underwriting procedures are completed promptly and accurately.
  • Stay in accordance with the requirements laid out in Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.

Education And Experience:

  • Preferential consideration will be given to candidates holding a Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) or above from a four-year accredited college with a major in finance, accounting, or business.
  • Candidates should possess at least ten years of practical experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial lending practices, loan structuring methodologies, underwriting procedures, financial acumen, and portfolio management skills.
  • Candidates with formal commercial credit education are prioritized.
  • Aptitude for refining and preserving strong analytical and risk management competencies when executing complex transactions.
  • Ability to make prudent decisions concerning credit approvals, loan arrangements, and management recommendations.
  • Awareness of a range of sectors and types of commercial real estate.
  • Applying expertise to analyze economic and market conditions that are relevant to specific markets or business categories.
  • Proficient in assessing collateral through analytical methods to determine its valuation.
  • Familiarity with commercial lending policies, procedures, and operations including originations, underwriting, documentation, and credit risk analysis.
