Job Summary:Banking Consultant

Banking Consultants are tasked with providing tailored financial services to customers by aiding them with their daily banking needs, overseeing the opening and maintenance of accounts, and recommending relevant products and services.

Crucial Responsibilities and Duties:

Business Development:

• Quickly establish a consistent SBA business development cadence in the marketplace, including but not limited to:
• Strategizing for calls and evaluating subsequent steps
• Client retention calls
• New client prospecting
• Reaching out via telephone to communicate with external parties
• Participating in networking events
• Uphold and strengthen an evolved COI network encompassing prominent members from various community and business sectors to drive referral production
• Accountable for sales-related activities, credit analysis, structuring loans correctly, packaging and submitting SBA loan requests, conducting client interviews, and assessing individual qualities
• Source and cultivate original affiliations to enhance entrepreneurial opportunities

Credit Acumen:

• Exhibits a deep understanding of business loan facilities
• Crafts suitable terms and products that cater to the specific needs of the business, asset duration, and growth strategy
• Reviews financial statements and tax records to evaluate creditworthiness and risk for individuals and businesses
• Evaluates short- and long-term credit needs based on business sales cycles and projected growth initiatives
• Educates prospective clients on bank loan evaluation processes, SBA programs, and applicable government regulations
• Partners with attorneys, loan closing agents, and internal teams to expedite loan closing and funding
• Balances business needs and customer preferences while proactively managing potential risks
• Ensures compliance with Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct, policies, and guidelines
• Provides guidance and mentorship to junior-level SBA lenders
• Ensures adherence to bank policies and procedures, including BSA, AML, and OFAC requirements
• Reviews loan requests and collects required applicant information while maintaining fair lending and ethical sales practices
• Resolves customer issues promptly and professionally, escalating concerns as appropriate

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in a finance-related field preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in SBA lending preferred
• At least ten years of experience in business development and/or financial services roles
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office applications
