Job Description:

At Regions, the Banking Services Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivers a seamless and satisfactory customer service interaction at the cash desk by effectively addressing customers' transactional requirements, such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments
• Supporting customers with questions about products and services and fulfilling basic servicing requests like issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving straightforward problems
• Creates partnerships with clients, maintaining a good grasp of their connection with the financial institution
• Educating clients on common consumer goods and digital innovations like mobile apps, online services, and ATM options, all designed to simplify banking procedures and enhance customer satisfaction
• Works alongside colleagues to provide assistance with basic duties, improving the resolution of customer issues
• Engaging in outbound telephone communications by reaching out to customers and potential leads from generated lists to discuss emerging technology solutions and assist with financial concerns
• The identification of complex financial goals prompts the referral of clients to an internal team with specialized expertise
• Adheres to bank guidelines and legal requirements, including fulfilling responsibilities authorized by the Branch Manager; as a valuable branch team contributor, maintains robust banking standards by overseeing, recognizing, and communicating operational dangers
• Attains branch objectives and aspirations through recognizing customer requirements and delivering suitable advice and insights regarding Regions' offerings

Monitoring and recording hours worked beyond 40 per week is a requirement for this position, with eligibility for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements:

• Securing a high school diploma or a GED equivalency is necessary for many career opportunities
• Suitability to include Saturdays in the work routine when necessary
• Skill in overseeing currency handling and processing cash transactions
• Ability to communicate effectively through personal interaction, phone communication, and digital platforms
• Proficiency in frequent computer usage, encompassing typing and sustained focus on a monitor
• Competence in ambulating and staying upright for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

• At least 12 months of experience in the banking sector, cash operations, or delivering customer service

Skills and Competencies:

• Exhibiting proficiency in abiding by prescribed policies, protocols, and criteria
• Competence in guiding individuals on using digital banking options
• The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time is essential
• Aptitude for managing significant cash amounts
• Emphasizing customer needs and adeptly nurturing customer interactions are essential attributes
