Job Description for Retail Banker:

In your capacity as a Retail Banker at First Citizens Bank, you will carry forward the tradition of cultivating and extending connections with business owners in your community to assist them in meeting their financial goals.

Retail Bankers are responsible for acquiring and managing a portfolio of business banking relationships.This associate engages bank partners to provide a full range of deposit and related business services. Larger relationships may be managed with manager approval and/or appropriate partner support. Develops and maintains an active prospect list, customer outreach plan and quality referral sources in accordance with a sales plan to achieve production goals and profitability objectives.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the privilege of:

• Aid in the bank's evolution by actively fostering the increase in business loans, deposits, and fee-based income.
• Utilize your connections to engage with local business owners and companies in order to cultivate business financing opportunities.
• Fulfill the role of representing the bank in the community by actively participating in civic, community, and networking events.
• Participate in an effective loan approval journey by fostering open communication and engaging with credit partners.
• Support a joint effort with various bank partners to enhance and amplify the holistic client connection.

Qualifications:

• Either possess a bachelor's degree with four years of experience in business lending, credit, or business development, or have a high school diploma/GED with eight years of experience in the field of business lending, credit, or business development.
• Proven track record in business development and successful track record in cultivating and expanding client connections.
• Showing strong expertise in financial analysis and evaluating creditworthiness.
• Awareness of financial products tailored for businesses, such as loans, savings plans, and tools for efficient money management.
• Skilled in the art of communication, negotiation, and presentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Developed COIs and sources for recommendations
• Skills in financial analysis and credit assessment are critical for accurately determining the creditworthiness of borrowers and setting appropriate credit limits
• Knowledge of business lending, deposit services, and cash flow management solutions is fundamental for financial decision-making within companies
• Proficient in dispensing financial advice and expertise
• Expertise in sales planning and outlook forecasting
