Role Overview:Banking Portfolio Manager

The main responsibility is to underwrite credit exposure for Wholesale Banking clients and oversee a Middle Market or CML portfolio. Daily duties consist of engaging with clients, managing risks within the portfolio, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and compliance obligations. An important part of the role involves promptly spotting emerging credit issues and industry trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for directing the complete commercial underwriting process for potential clients and established customers, covering scrutiny, paperwork, and cooperation with internal and external participants.
• Facilitate and organize the financial aspects of every client and potential transaction, assuring the precision of real estate valuations, environmental evaluations, and UCC checks.
• Conduct reviews of monetary statements, company outlines, and critical risks, presenting sound advice and credit remedies.
• Uphold substantial proficiency in client industries and the bank's assortment of credit and supplementary items to advise on suitable loan frameworks.
• Ensure all underwriting activities meet regulatory and compliance mandates while staying within the bank's risk framework.
• Supervise the given portfolio by monitoring its performance, trends, and possible credit difficulties, and taking prompt action to resolve any issues.
• Sustain the correctness of risk categorization, conduct yearly appraisals, disperse financial reports, and fulfill all mandatory compliance and regulatory examinations.
• Monitor alterations and exemptions in the allocated portfolio to uphold a risk management strategy that is proactive, transparent, and forward-focused.
• Team up with in-house product departments to craft and deliver credit options that fulfill client needs and are in line with the bank's pricing and risk criteria.
• Offer an autonomous analysis of the risks connected to assigned clients and prospects, along with developing recommendations for addressing these risks.
• Navigate a sophisticated portfolio with material credit risk, calling for robust judgment, adept problem-solving aptitude, and the capacity for independent decision-making.
• Express an individual viewpoint to impact crucial credit choices and advise and support junior staff as required.
• Join in and guide efforts or assignments that enhance the overall Portfolio Management structure apart from routine portfolio obligations.
• Ensure the delivery of excellent credit and underwriting assessments while maintaining high operational and credit risk benchmarks.

Qualifications:

Required:

• A bachelor's degree in a finance-related discipline is a prerequisite.
• Possessing a track record of over five years in assessing commercial credit.
• Proficient in MS Office software at a mastery level.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication capabilities.
• Displayed sound credit judgment and strong analytical skills.
• Outstanding thoroughness.
• Skillful at prioritizing and juggling various tasks effectively amidst a fast-paced atmosphere.

Preferred:

• Prior involvement in a similar capacity within the financial sector.
• Industry-specific proficiency or skills.
• Skilled in using Truist's operating software like COMPASS, MRA, Salesforce, and nCino.
