Credit Analyst

Job Summary:

Within the banking environment, individuals in the role of a Credit Analyst support the evaluation and management of credit risk by analyzing financial information, assisting in loan structuring, and supporting relationship teams in delivering appropriate financial solutions to clients.

Main Duties and Obligations:

Business Development Support:

• Support SBA business development activities by assisting with pipeline management and client outreach initiatives
• Analyze information gathered from client calls and meetings to support next-step recommendations
• Assist with client retention efforts through financial analysis and reporting
• Support new client prospecting through credit research and financial reviews
• Collaborate with relationship managers during networking and referral-based initiatives
• Assist in maintaining strong COI relationships by providing timely and accurate credit insights
• Support sales-related activities through credit analysis, loan structuring assistance, SBA loan preparation, and documentation review
• Contribute to the development of internal and external partnerships to strengthen business relationships

Credit Acumen:

• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of business credit products and lending structures
• Analyzes appropriate loan terms and structures based on business needs, asset life, and growth strategies
• Reviews financial statements, cash flow reports, and tax returns to assess creditworthiness and risk
• Evaluates short- and long-term credit requirements aligned with business sales cycles and expansion plans
• Supports relationship teams by explaining underwriting standards, SBA programs, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinates with attorneys, loan closing agents, and internal partners to facilitate timely loan closings
• Balances customer needs with sound risk management principles
• Ensures compliance with Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures
• Provides guidance and technical support to junior analysts or SBA lending team members as needed
• Maintains strict adherence to BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations
• Reviews loan requests and gathers required applicant documentation while upholding fair lending and ethical practices
• Assists in resolving customer-related credit issues, escalating concerns when appropriate

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred
• Five or more years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or SBA lending preferred
• Minimum of ten years of experience within banking, financial services, or related business roles
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
