CRA Loan Specialist

The CRA Loan Specialist at Regions is responsible for managing the process of originating residential mortgage loans via a branch network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Takes charge of compiling mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting divisions
• Examines requests for loans, scrutinizes financial records, and establishes the suitability of collateral and the creditworthiness of borrowers
• Keeps the loan applicant informed about the loan process and gathers all necessary documents
• Modifying loans to meet the requirements of authorized lending practices and government guidelines
• Create a detailed marketing and operational plan that encompasses the names of prospective and current borrowers, real estate professionals, contractors, and developers, along with a structured approach for maintaining regular contact
• Responding to customer calls and visits to converse about a range of loan products and requirements
• Engages in contacting prospects or established clients following the Regions marketing blueprint to foster fresh opportunities or uphold current relationships
• Encourages the purchase of supplementary financial products from the bank
• Examines reports and assessments, and enacts appropriate measures to rectify encroachments and violations
• Utilize involvement in various organizations and events to advertise and promote loan services effectively

Requirements:

• Achieving either a high school diploma or a GED is crucial for personal and professional growth
• Possess one year of hands-on experience in mortgage lending with a track record of successful mortgage generation
• Vast expertise in the mortgage field involving the establishment of connections with external entities like real estate agents, contractors, and financial consultants to enhance business opportunities

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in a past role as a Mortgage Loan Officer

Skills and Competencies:

• Good organizational skills
• Well-versed in mortgage options, systems, vocabulary, tax regulations, and support initiatives for down payments.
• Familiar with agency and investor regulations and guidelines
• Creating and sustaining strong internal and external networks is crucial for delivering top-notch service consistently
• Proficiency in managing various tasks concurrently and delivering results within limited time frames is a prerequisite
• Adept in utilizing Microsoft Office software
• Sales acumen
• Proficient in both written and spoken communication
