Job Description:

At Regions, the Banking Product Specialist is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

The primary focus of Regions is to improve the well-being of customers and communities. The successful candidate should be ambitious and adaptable, with a passion for educating customers on the convenience of choosing their preferred banking methods. Strong communication skills and the ability to offer personalized customer service are essential for this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides a consistent and satisfactory customer experience at the teller counter by proficiently managing customers' financial transactions like deposits, withdrawals, and bill payments
  • Assisting customers with inquiries concerning products and services and completing routine service requests such as issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving minor problems
  • Forms bonds with customers, remaining well-informed about their association with the bank
  • Provides information to clients about typical consumer merchandise and digital advancements such as mobile applications, internet solutions, and automated teller machines, all intended to streamline banking operations
  • Aids teammates and branches by assisting with fundamental assignments to facilitate resolving customer problems
  • Conducting outgoing telephone calls using created lists of potential customers and leads to inform individuals about new technology and aid them in addressing their financial requirements
  • Customers are guided to an internal panel of professionals upon the acknowledgment of more sophisticated financial aspirations and demands
  • Ensures conformance with bank procedures and regulations, as well as performing tasks directed by the Branch Manager; actively contributes to the branch team by upholding secure banking practices, managing, and notifying about operational hazards
  • Accomplishes branch targets and milestones through the identification of customer needs and the provision of relevant advice and insights on Regions' offerings

The responsibility includes monitoring hours worked beyond 40 hours per week and qualifies for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act regulations.

Eligibility for bonuses is a feature of this job.

Requirements:

  • Attaining a high school diploma or GED qualification is a fundamental step towards success
  • Preparedness to work on Saturdays as necessary
  • Ability to control cash flow and execute financial transactions involving cash
  • Versatility in engaging in conversations through face-to-face discussions, phone calls, and online communication
  • Adept at routinely operating a computer, involving typing and sustained focus on a monitor
  • Skill to walk and stand for prolonged periods without experiencing fatigue
  • Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in banking, cash handling, or customer relations

Skills and Competencies:

  • Illustrating competence in observing and adhering to specified regulations, procedures, and standards
  • Expertise in assisting individuals with digital banking tools
  • Successfully handling various priorities concurrently showcases strong multitasking abilities
  • Skill in managing substantial cash volumes
  • Showcasing exceptional customer orientation and proficiently developing strong customer rapport are crucial strengths
