The Personal Banking Consultant is a Financial Center position focused on using a consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The Personal Banker I is primarily responsible for acquiring new households and/or deepening existing customer relationships through a variety of activities, including but not limited to lobby leadership aisle time and tele-consulting. This role also includes processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Significant responsibilities and core tasks:

• Apply the consultative sales procedure and conduct a meticulous Financial Needs Assessment to develop a thorough customer profile and determine the customer's current and future financial needs.
• Maintain expertise in retail consumer and small business offerings to suggest effective solutions that align with our value proposition.
• Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to reach out to customers and arrange appointments for routine financial assessments.
• The central focus is on cross-promoting to the current customer base and participating in outside sales activities as directed, which may include delivering Membership Advantage presentations on-site, making sales calls to businesses, attending community events that promote financial literacy, and more.
• Create collaborative partnerships with specified Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer clients efficiently for comprehensive financial support.
• Achieving or surpassing customer satisfaction levels and individual/team output objectives to support an increase in revenue growth year after year, as noted in the Financial Center profit and loss statement.
• Assist CSRs in developing their skills in managing sales and referral interactions.
• Elevate customer satisfaction by consistently demonstrating a friendly, helpful approach while upholding high standards of professionalism.
• Act with confidence by answering customer questions and owning customer issues.
• Strengthen trust and reliability by carefully guarding the confidentiality of all company information.
• Follow the standards set forth in the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, upholding ethical conduct consistently.
• Follow the approved rules and protocols when initiating/dealing with all Retail products.
• Be involved in the consumer lending and credit card process, managing the sourcing of loans from the application stage through to the closing of the agreement.
• Comprehend and implement the opening and closing protocols of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as assigned by the Financial Center Manager.
• Stay abreast of the procedures within the retail sector aimed at reducing fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk exposure.

The necessary minimum level of expertise, talents, and proficiencies:

• The choice between pursuing a college degree, acquiring work experience featuring transferable skills, or a hybrid of both options plays a crucial role in shaping individuals' professional journeys.
• Prior involvement in the financial industry is advantageous.
• Proven skill in cultivating a comfortable atmosphere for sales interactions tailored to acquiring new customers in residential and small business sectors, or promoting supplementary services to established clientele.
• Proficiency in understanding advanced math functions is crucial for precise evaluation of credit and financial details.
• Professionally representing Fifth Third Bank involves presenting oneself in a polished manner and communicating effectively.
• Displayed capacity in learning Retail policies and procedures to utilize good judgment in decision-making.
• Registration under the S.A.F.E. Act via the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is a prerequisite for this position at the time of hiring. Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment.
• Extending the timeframe of viewing computer displays.
• Being able to travel within the affiliate for training and showing flexibility in scheduling will be crucial for this program.
• Attendance at classroom training sessions will involve travel beyond the affiliate's regular premises.
