The Branch Banker role focuses on serving Banking Center customers and supporting the team in achieving sales, service, and operational goals in alignment with Webster’s Strategic Guidelines. This position is responsible for processing all customer-related financial transactions in accordance with the Bank’s rules, regulations, and guidelines. The role also requires strong communication and active listening skills to understand customers’ financial needs, build trust, maximize sales opportunities, generate leads, and deliver high-quality customer service. Additionally, the Relationship Banker develops and maintains strong partnerships across business segments through collaboration and communication, while supporting the supervision and mentoring of fellow Relationship Bankers.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly and accurately to customer needs by effectively utilizing available tools and resources.
• Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate financial products and services through personalized, relationship-focused conversations.
• Perform routine teller functions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and other required financial transactions.
• Support execution of the segmentation strategy through sales, retention, and other banking initiatives to achieve Banking Center growth and profitability objectives.
• Meet or exceed individual and team goals related to sales, service, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, as well as internal bank policies and procedures, while meeting or exceeding branch audit and operational review standards.
• Assist in supervising banking center colleagues by providing coaching and guidance; serve as a role model and support the onboarding of new team members.

Education, Work History, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of customer sales and service experience required, with 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all banking products and services.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of systems used for branch transaction processing.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to foster teamwork in a positive work environment.
• Ability to work flexible or rotating schedules, including weekends and extended hours, with potential travel to other Banking Centers.
