Job Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Advisor role involves the initiation of mortgage loans in a designated non-bank territory. Responsibilities include processing loan applications, conducting initial underwriting reviews, and forwarding applications for processing and underwriting approval. It is crucial for the individual to secure required documentation promptly for processing, underwriting, and closure. Additionally, the position requires active involvement in generating and soliciting loan transactions and performing sales-related tasks outside U.S. Bank locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the process of securing mortgage funding for clients within an assigned non-bank region.
• Manages loan application submissions, performs initial underwriting evaluations, and submits them to processing and underwriting departments for authorization.
• Facilitates the quick collection of required paperwork for processing, underwriting, and closing steps.
• Consistently conducting loan sales away from U.S. Bank premises, with a significant portion, around 50%, of their working hours dedicated to external sites.

Basic Qualifications:

• Fulfilling the prerequisites for a high school diploma or an analogous degree.
• Applicants should have a minimum of one year of experience in mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking.
• Ability to travel.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Well-developed sales ability.
• Knowledge of the pricing methodologies and underwriting standards employed by diverse mortgage insurance providers is important.
• Awareness of the underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors to facilitate smooth processes.
• Elementary familiarity with regulations at local, state, and national levels.
• Capacity for independent performance.
• Strong proficiency in evaluating financial data.
• Showing expertise in both oral and written communication skills.
• Ideally, there would already be a referral base in place within the given market.
