This job entails acting as a Mortgage Advisor, where one would be tasked with assisting clients in completing loan applications and educating them about different mortgage choices. The Mortgage Advisor is accountable for originating new mortgage deals through a variety of sources, internal and external alike. The key responsibilities of this role involve handling loan applications, reviewing applicant information, collecting necessary documentation, and supporting clients throughout the loan process. The Advisor defines precise expectations, furnishes updates regularly, and ensures compliance with the bank's credit policies and standards.

Main Functions and Job Duties:

• Establish mortgage lending arrangements and boost business development by acquiring referrals, engaging in networking activities, and forming partnerships with stakeholders like financial institutions, real estate agents, builders, and financial experts.
• Cultivate rapport with assigned banking centers and educate personnel on recognizing opportunities for mortgage referrals.
• Expand business networks via self-sourced opportunities and referrals from banking institutions.
• Maintain effective dialogue with mortgage operations teams and executives for streamlined collaboration.
• Portray a professional image and protect the confidentiality of customer data.
• Evaluate customer finances to determine the most fitting mortgage products to recommend based on their unique financial situations.
• Direct and manage the loan journey starting with the application process and concluding with the closing.
• Stay informed about lending policies and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no managerial duties required in this role.

Qualifications:

• Education: This role necessitates a high school diploma, with a strong preference for individuals with an advanced degree.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, credit analysis protocols, and underwriting expectations is vital, along with the prerequisite of obtaining NMLS certification.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in mortgage banking essential, specifically with FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, and VA protocols.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication abilities and relationship development expertise are key attributes.
• Analyzing financial statements while improving interviewing acumen.
• Skillful in using various computer systems and tools relevant to business functions.

Physical Requirements:

• Regular talking and attentive comprehension.
• Repetitive gestures and motions with hands and fingers.
• Skill in appraising paperwork and managing office equipment.
• A valid driver’s license is necessitated for this outside sales position.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
