Job Description:Mortgage Lending Specialist

The responsibility of the Mortgage Lending Specialist at Regions is to manage the origination process of residential mortgage loans through a branch network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the compilation of mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting branches
• Analyzes loan requests, reviews financial data, and determines the qualification of collateral and the credit history of clients
• Communicates with the loan applicant about the loan's progress and gathers all required documentation
• Altering loan terms to meet the criteria of approved lending practices and national regulations
• Construct a comprehensive marketing and business plan that identifies potential and existing loan clients, real estate agents, contractors, developers, and establishes a schedule for regular interaction
• Responding to customer inquiries through both phone calls and in-person visits, covering a range of loan options and qualification information
• Engages in sales outreach to potential or current clients following the Regions marketing plan to develop new opportunities or retain current business relationships
• Introduces customers to a variety of other bank products and services
• Reviews survey results and assessments to determine encroachments and violations, implementing necessary corrections
• Utilize networking channels within professional, business, and community realms to promote and market loan options

Requirements:

• Achieving a high school diploma or GED showcases a commitment to self-improvement and skill development
• Possess a year of industry experience in mortgage lending, with proven results in mortgage production
• Extensive mortgage experience in establishing external business networks through collaborations with referral partners in the market, such as real estate agents, builders, and financial planners

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree
• Background in Mortgage Loan Officer work from before

Skills and Competencies:

• Good organizational skills
• Knowledgeable of Mortgage products, systems, terminology, tax requirements, down payment assistance programs, etc.
• Knowledgeable about agency and investor regulations and recommendations
• Delivering top-tier service requires the capability to establish and uphold internal and external relationships effectively
• Effectively multitasking and meeting demanding deadlines amidst competing priorities is essential
• Capable in Microsoft Office software
• Sales acumen
• Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal contexts
