The Banking Services Associate role will provide services for Banking Center customers and assist the team in achievement of sales, service, and operation goals, based on Webster's Strategic Guidelines. The role will process all customer related financial transactions in accordance with the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Bank. Additionally, this role uses excellent communication and active listening skills to learn about the customer's financial needs, establish trust, optimize sales opportunities, generate leads, and provide quality customer service as well as develop and maintain a strong partnership with various business segments through collaboration and communication. Ability to supervise and coach fellow Relationship Bankers.
Responsibilities:
Making the most of resources and tools available enables accurate and timely responses to customers' needs.
Assessing clients' needs and recommending relevant financial solutions and products through customized conversations to nurture and deepen connections.
Execute routine teller functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan repayments, and other necessary daily transactions.
Aid in the execution of the segmentation strategy by introducing sales, retention, and diverse bank projects to achieve the growth and profitability targets of the Banking Center.
The objective is to achieve or surpass targets in sales, service, and operational functions both individually and collectively as a team.
Staying in compliance with Federal and State regulations and internal bank policies and procedures, meeting or exceeding branch audit requirements and operational evaluation benchmarks.
Support supervision of banking center colleagues by offering coaching support to fellow bankers. Lead by example and assist in the orientation of new bankers to the team.
Educational Background, Career Trajectory, and Skill Proficiencies:
Minimum qualification includes a high school diploma or GED, while candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree are favored.
Experience in customer sales and service for 2–4 years is required, with preference given to those with 1–2 years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability in leading, coaching, and motivating others.
In-depth understanding of the various products and services.
Maintains knowledge of all systems implemented for branch transaction processing.
Exemplifies outstanding customer service skills and the ability to promote teamwork, cultivating a positive working environment.
Being able to work on a flexible and/or rotating schedule, which may involve weekends, extended hours, and traveling to alternate Banking Centers, is a requirement.
