Corporate Bankers at UMB are experts at building customer relationships and recommending and selling products and services. Corporate Bankers use their product knowledge and every interaction to identify needs and offer financial solutions that help customers secure their financial well-being while making banking easy.

The position of a Corporate Banker involves in-depth training on UMB’s products, sales techniques, and financial services. Interactions with UMB leaders provide valuable mentorship and expertise.

Deciding on the activities to engage in during your day:

• Utilizing personalized questioning techniques to convert transactions, account upkeep responsibilities, and standard service requests into cross-selling conversations that strengthen client relationships while addressing customer needs
• Initiating sales opportunities by proactively contacting leads, visiting companies to present workplace banking solutions, and creating referral networks to generate client recommendations
• Successfully managing competing priorities while achieving daily key performance metrics
• Applying learning methodologies that include transaction processing, cash drawer management, and completion of bank documentation in compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements

• You effectively combine product knowledge with strong communication skills to make a meaningful impact on clients’ financial outcomes
• You communicate persuasively, maintain a positive professional image, and enjoy solving problems to achieve favorable results
• You demonstrate strong attention to detail when completing documentation or explaining product features and benefits
• You have a high school diploma or equivalent
• You bring at least one year of retail or customer-facing experience involving customer engagement, product recommendations, and sales contribution, or possess comparable related experience
• You have reliable transportation and the flexibility to work branch hours, which may include evenings and weekends
• You are able to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days of meeting eligibility requirements
