Job Description:

The job of aBank Teller Associate within a Financial Center is focused on utilizing a consultative sales procedure to actively recognize and fulfill the financial necessities of clients or potential customers. The primary objective of a Personal Banker I is to secure new accounts and strengthen current customer relationships by engaging in various activities, such as leading in the lobby, spending time in the banking aisles, and conducting consultations over the phone. This role also entails managing teller transactions and functioning as part of the platform team.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Apply the consultative sales procedure and perform a meticulous Financial Needs Assessment to create an elaborate customer profile and determine the customer's existing and prospective financial needs.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of retail consumer and small business solutions to provide tailored recommendations in line with our value proposition.
• Leverage CAMP and other approved marketing strategies to proactively connect with clients and establish meetings for periodic financial evaluations.
• The primary goal is to cross-sell to the existing customer base and partake in external sales activities as instructed, which may include conducting presentations on Membership Advantage, making sales calls to businesses, participating in community events centered around financial literacy, and more.
• Nurture productive alliances with designated Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer clients appropriately for timely and comprehensive financial assistance.
• Meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction levels and individual/team efficiency targets in order to enhance annual revenue growth as indicated by the Financial Center's P&L report.
• Assist customer service representatives in understanding the sales and referral protocol.
• Increase customer satisfaction by engaging with a positive and supportive approach, showcasing professionalism consistently.
• Act with confidence by answering customer questions and owning customer issues.
• Preserve a trustworthy and responsible image by maintaining the secrecy of all confidential business details.
• Observe the principles detailed in the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, maintaining ethical standards at all times.
• Abide by the established policies and processes when introducing/operating the entire assortment of Retail items.
• Be actively involved in the process of obtaining consumer loans and credit cards, managing the sourcing of loans from the application process to the closing stages.
• Carry out the opening and closing tasks at the Financial Center or Bank Mart according to the directives provided by the Financial Center Manager.
• Stay updated on the retail protocols designed to mitigate fraudulent behavior and reduce exposure to risk.

The fundamental understanding, proficiencies, and capabilities expected:

• The choice between a college education, practical work experience emphasizing transferable skills, or a combination thereof is pivotal in shaping one's career trajectory.
• Prior experience in finance is preferred.
• Proven capacity to cultivate confidence in engaging with sales initiatives targeted at attracting new customers from residential and small business segments or promoting existing services to loyal clients.
• The capability to apply advanced math functions is crucial for assessing creditworthiness and financial information.
• Demonstrating a professional image and effective communication on behalf of Fifth Third Bank is paramount.
• Illustrated proficiency in acquiring a practical grasp of Retail rules and processes to apply astute judgment in decision-making.
