Job Description:

At Regions, the Consumer Banking Associate is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensures a smooth and efficient customer service experience at the teller counter by proficiently managing customers' transactional needs like deposits, withdrawals, and bill settlements
• Handling customer queries related to products and services and performing basic service tasks like issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving simple problems
• Establishes affiliations with customers, remaining well-informed about their association with the bank
• Educates customers on the usage of typical consumer goods and digital solutions such as mobile apps, online platforms, and ATM services, emphasizing the simplification of banking tasks
• Collaborates with team members to provide support in resolving customer issues through handling basic tasks
• Making outbound phone calls to customers and potential leads based on generated lists, educating them on emerging technology, and providing guidance on fulfilling their financial aspirations
• In situations involving complex financial aspirations, customers are directed to the organization's team of experts for guidance
• Maintains compliance with bank protocols and guidelines, while also following applicable laws and regulations, completing duties assigned by the Branch Manager; contributes to the branch team's efforts in upholding secure banking practices, such as overseeing, identifying, and addressing operational risks
• Attains branch goals and objectives by recognizing customer needs and delivering appropriate advice and insights regarding Regions' offerings

The position involves documenting hours worked over 40 per week and is subject to overtime compensation as outlined in the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Bonuses may be rewarded for this role.

Requirements:

• Attaining a high school diploma or GED qualification is a fundamental step towards success
• Aptitude to work on Saturdays when the situation requires
• Capability to manage cash and perform transactions involving physical currency
• Ability to communicate effectively through personal interaction, phone communication, and digital platforms
• Competence in utilizing a computer regularly, including typing and consistent attention to a screen
• Skill in being able to walk and remain standing for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

• Demonstrated competency acquired over one year of hands-on experience in banking, cash handling, or customer service positions

Skills and Competencies:

• Demonstrating adeptness in adhering to specified policies, procedures, and instructions
• Proficiency in providing assistance with digital banking offerings
• The capacity to deal with multiple tasks at the same time is a valuable skill set
• Competency in overseeing large cash sums
• Showcasing exceptional customer orientation and proficiently developing strong customer rapport are crucial strengths

Payment ranges are role-dependent and act as a reference point within the market to guide compensation decisions. Factors such as experience, competencies, knowledge, contribution, location, and especially, job performance play a pivotal role in determining the pay that individual associates receive within the same job function.
