Job Description:

The internship opportunity with Simmons Bank involves collaborating with the Audit unit. The Internal Audit Specialist will contribute to the execution of audits, appraisals, and distinct ventures to ensure alignment with organizational protocols and statutory benchmarks. This role allows for hands-on engagement in scrutinizing risks, assessing procedures, and supervising internal controls under the supervision of a proficient credit team member.

Key Responsibilities:

• Focused on a primary task or several essential undertakings.
• Aiding in fundamental banking responsibilities, reviewing processes, and compiling reports.
• Providing support for the planning, execution, and documentation of audits.
• Analyzing data and preparing documentation for audit work.
• Assisting in identifying opportunities for process optimization and uncovering weaknesses in control mechanisms.
• Achieving audit objectives through teamwork and collaboration with team members.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a program related to Accounting, Finance, Business, or a comparable field, having completed at least 12 credit hours in finance or accounting courses and reaching junior status.
• Proficient in critical thinking and addressing challenges.
• Strong communication skills, demonstrated through writing and speaking.
• Effective in managing time, projects, and maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrates optimism, a quick learning aptitude, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Eager to engage in mentorship and understand the intricacies of auditing.
• Capable of delivering precise and high-quality results.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
