The Cash Handling Associate role involves working collaboratively with team members to achieve daily operational goals while upholding the standards and integrity of the financial institution.
As a primary point of contact for many clients, Cash Handling Associates play an important role in delivering the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring banking transactions are completed accurately, ethically, and in full compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The role also focuses on building and strengthening client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover financial needs and identify opportunities to offer additional bank products and services.
Responsibilities include:
Provides accurate and confidential cash-handling and transaction services to customers on a consistent basis.
Efficiently performs and supports daily operational tasks that maintain the credibility and integrity of the branch.
Mitigates risk by ensuring the secure handling of cash drawers and promptly completing accounting or fund transfers.
Builds relationships with internal and external clients, anticipates needs, and delivers proactive solutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Columbia Bank’s products and services and stays informed of changes.
Identifies customer financial needs and recommends appropriate banking products and services.
Supports branch referral goals by identifying opportunities and directing clients to suitable banking solutions.

Qualifications include:
High school diploma or GED required.
One year of banking or customer service experience preferred.
