Job Summary:

As an Underwriter Associate, you will support the underwriting of new loan originations and renewals involving mortgage warehousing, mortgage servicing rights, working capital lines of credit, and other commercial lending products. This role requires close coordination with loan officers to evaluate borrower creditworthiness and review transactions with complex structures in a fast-paced setting.

Your core responsibility is to review loan structures, financial spreads, entity arrangements, collateral packages, market research, and industry analyses to identify potential risks and assist in developing recommendations for Credit Administration. Duties include preparing deal summaries, drafting loan presentations, issuing administrative guidance, and contributing to annual relationship reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial reviews and risk analyses of financing requests to ensure alignment with the bank’s credit standards and current market conditions.
• Examine detailed financial statements with interrelated components to compile accurate information for financing proposals submitted to senior leadership or the Loan Committee.
• Customer Interaction: Participate in virtual and on-site due diligence meetings at client offices or operational locations alongside sales partners, engaging with existing and prospective customers.
• Provide support to junior credit analysts by reviewing their work, including compliance documentation and select underwriting elements.
• Collaborate with internal sales, processing, and treasury management teams to help strengthen and expand comprehensive banking relationships.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• Knowledge:
• Understanding of core banking functions, including deposits, lending operations, treasury services, and commercial banking products.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, legal standards, and industry best practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
