Job Description:

Wealth Strategists must stay informed about changes in financial regulations and industry trends to provide clients with up-to-date advice and comply with legal requirements.

This role is accountable to invoke trust and build strong client relationships, determine individual investment needs and provide professional, customized advice to ensure client's financial goals are met. You will provide a superior client onboarding experience, actively reviewing client portfolios and preparing and presenting appropriate investment solutions by leveraging various tools provided by the bank. Being the first point of client contact, the Financial Advisor's core mandate is to provide investment recommendations based on client suitability, time frame and goals. The Wealth Strategist has the ultimate goal of building and solidifying customer loyalty while deepening client relationships.

Customer:

  • Grasping the complexities of financial markets and identifying when to offer clients advice is critical
  • Trust-building and cultivating strong customer relationships are facilitated by educating clients on permissible risks and performance expectations vital for realizing their financial objectives.
  • Maintains outstanding client rapport and formulates unique action plans to aid clients in reaching their financial goals.
  • Knowledgeable in 15 specialized investment product categories, offering expert insights
  • Mutual Funds
  • Annuities
  • Managed Accounts
  • Marked Linked CDs
  • Unit Investment Trust
  • Retirement planning
  • Annual check-ups on fee-based account statuses

Financial:

  • Tasked with the steady expansion of the portfolio
  • Accomplish the monthly sales milestone
  • Seeking Resources Outside the Organization (which involves prospecting from current and new clients)
  • Advice on Maturities
  • Uncovering uninvested opportunities

Risk:

  • Fulfilling the internal and FINRA audit requirements
  • The Advisor is entrusted with the task of approving actions and decisions to maintain compliance with industry regulators' standards

Financial Advice:

  • Investment Reviews
  • Developing Financial Plans
  • Solution Positioning
  • Securing client Personal Information from Unauthorized Access

Trading:

  • Accuracy
  • Discipline order/confirmation
  • Examine the urgency for the trade
  • Comply with the Best Interest Contract (BIC) in all recommendations put forth
  • Stay current and flexible to address the evolving regulatory scenario
  • Exhibit substantial expertise and act as a valuable resource in software systems such as LPL's ClientWorks, SalesForce, and Moneyguide-Pro

This area delves into the commitments, decision-making guidelines, and the scale and importance of one's contributions:

  • Decision Making - Provide investment advice that takes into account the client's suitability, time frame, and goals
  • Delivers wealth and investment offerings and services to BMO clients and potential leads, focusing on understanding their specific financial goals to provide tailored solutions. Offers personalized wealth and investment guidance that suits the customer's preferences.
  • Carries out customer service and sales tasks according to designated processes and identifies opportunities to connect clients with other departments.
  • Competence in comprehending and articulating Cost Basis, Tax forms, IRA (Individual Retirement Account) RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) withdrawals, and the penalties for early withdrawals plays a significant role in financial literacy
  • Certify the authenticity of client accounts and obtain regulatory sign-offs
  • Employ authority to influence the nature of investment advice provided, ensuring compliance with the BIS guidelines and securities regulations in force
  • The impact of this role on the business unit objectives is significant and direct

Knowledge and Skills:

  • The role necessitates a university degree and a track record of 3-5 years working in finance
  • In the realm of financial services, it is standard for individuals to possess qualifications like the Series 7 and 66 licenses, or to hold a mix of licenses such as Series 7, 63, and 65, along with insurance licensing covering life and health policies
  • Satisfying the background investigation criteria as outlined in U4 regulations is a must
  • Ongoing education programs are under the supervision of BMO and FINRA
