Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

A Financial Analyst supports informed financial decision-making by analyzing client and business financial data, assisting with credit evaluations, and collaborating with banking partners to recommend appropriate financial solutions and products.

Core Responsibilities and Functions:

Market & Relationship Development:

• Establish and support a consistent SBA-related business development rhythm within the marketplace, including but not limited to:
• Organizing outbound communication strategies and tracking follow-up actions
• Supporting client retention initiatives through financial analysis
• Assisting with new client prospecting efforts
• Conducting outbound calls to engage prospects and existing clients
• Participating in networking and relationship-building events
• Strengthen and maintain a well-developed Center of Influence (COI) network of community and business leaders to support referral activity
• Support sales activities through credit evaluation, loan structuring, preparation and submission of SBA loan applications, client interviews, and qualitative assessments
• Build and maintain internal and external partnerships to expand business relationships

Financial and Credit Analysis Expertise:

• Demonstrates strong proficiency in analyzing commercial credit products and lending structures
• Develops appropriate loan terms and product recommendations aligned with business needs, asset life cycles, and growth strategies
• Analyzes business and personal financial statements and tax returns to assess creditworthiness and risk exposure
• Evaluates short- and long-term credit needs based on business sales cycles and projected growth
• Explains underwriting standards, SBA programs, and applicable regulatory requirements to internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinates with attorneys, loan closing agents, and internal teams to support timely loan closing and funding
• Balances business objectives, customer expectations, and risk management considerations
• Operates in alignment with the standards outlined in Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Provides guidance and analytical support to junior or entry-level SBA lending professionals
• Ensures adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, and OFAC guidelines
• Reviews loan applications and gathers required documentation while maintaining fair lending and ethical practices
• Responds to customer inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner, escalating concerns as appropriate

Education and Professional Background:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred
• More than five years of direct experience in SBA lending, credit analysis, or related roles preferred
• Minimum of ten years of experience in business development, financial services, or analytical roles
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in using desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
