Personal Banking Consultant

The main task of the Personal Banking Consultant is to provide an outstanding client experience in accordance with our Breakthrough Client Experience Standards. They are responsible for acquiring new relationships and expanding existing ones by inquiring about client needs, suggesting appropriate products and services, and directing clients to the right bank personnel when necessary. Additionally, they are accountable for identifying and initiating consumer lending opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

• Excel in client service by immediately greeting customers, identifying their preferences, suggesting suitable options, and responding promptly to their queries.
• Collaborate with clients and potential customers on financial reviews and business assessments to present solutions and reveal any additional financial requirements.
• Deliver on commitments and provide guidance to clients.
• Establish and maintain direct communication with both internal and external customers, consistently offering proactive solutions and resolving issues in line with the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
• Support clients in the setup of both consumer and business accounts, regardless of their status as new or current customers.
• Contribute to the team dynamic of Client Service Specialists and assist with teller functions, such as processing cash transactions when necessary.
• Assist in fulfilling the branch goal by identifying and directing a wide variety of bank products and services to the suitable internal business partners.
• Stay abreast of product developments and techniques.
• Manage customer challenges and inquiries with persistent attention to detail.
• Create awareness of trade, consumer, and confidence sectors.
• Additional tasks may be allocated as necessary.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in a client service specialist (teller) or other banking role is preferred.
• Understanding of basic consumer banking procedures and available products and services.
• Motivation and aptitude to develop consumer lending skills.
• Ability to follow designated Standard Operating Procedures.
• Accuracy in cash handling, account reconciliation, and mathematical calculations.
• Ability to manage a variety of client needs promptly.
• Strong relationship-building skills with new and existing clients.
• Familiarity with applicable state laws and regulations governing banking products and services.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain Nationwide Multistate Licensing and Registry (NMLS) preferred.
