Job Summary:

As a CRA Lending Specialist one's primary responsibility is to originate mortgage loans within an assigned non-bank region. This entails accepting loan applications, conducting initial underwriting evaluations, and submitting applications for processing and underwriting endorsement. The individual must also guarantee the timely collection of necessary documentation for processing, underwriting, and finalizing loan agreements. Moreover, the position necessitates active engagement in generating and soliciting loan sales and executing sales-related duties outside of U.S. Bank premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sources and facilitates mortgage approvals for individuals residing in an allocated non-traditional banking zone.
• Processes loan applications, conducts initial underwriting assessments, and forwards submissions for approval by the processing and underwriting teams.
• Ensures swift collection of all required paperwork for processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Regularly conducting loan sales away from U.S. Bank sites, with a significant portion, at least 50%, of their schedule allocated to off-site activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Attainment of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Experience of at least a year in mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking is essential.
• Ability to travel.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Well-developed sales ability.
• Knowledge of the pricing methodologies and underwriting standards employed by diverse mortgage insurance providers is important.
• Knowledge of the underwriting prerequisites for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors to ensure compliance.
• Elementary knowledge of laws that apply locally, statewide, and nationally.
• Aptitude for self-directed work.
• Skillful at interpreting and evaluating financial data.
• Possessing strong skills in expressing ideas orally and in writing.
• Preferably, there should be an existing source of referrals within the allocated market.
