Commercial Credit Manager

Job Summary:

In this position, the primary duty is to aid in overseeing the commercial loan and deposit portfolio for a designated group of Relationship Managers specializing in commercial dealings coupled with some commercial real estate exposure. The main emphasis lies on conducting thorough underwriting, proficient portfolio supervision, and ensuring top-notch customer care, all while complying with the bank's policies and risk protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess financial records to gauge suitability for credit approval in new, renewed, or ongoing lending partnerships.
• Create comprehensive credit notes that encompass borrower assessments, risk appraisals, and recommended actions.
• Utilize industry and market research to underpin lending decisions effectively.
• Create loan packages tailored to suit the needs of clients while also aligning with the objectives of the organization.
• Assist in navigating loan requests as they progress through the credit approval stage.
• Keep tabs on loan collections, encompassing covenant monitoring, annual assessments, and managing any discrepancies.
• Update and refine risk assessments by considering current financial and market conditions.
• Ensure that internal policies are followed and that all relevant state and federal regulations are met.
• Partner with Relationship Managers, credit teams, and operations to solve any documentation or compliance-related challenges.
• Offer assistance during client meetings and presentations as necessary.
• Cultivate robust relationships internally and externally with key parties like attorneys, assessors, and constructors.
• Assist in endeavors to decrease outstanding loan balances and ensure effective risk management throughout the portfolio.
• Take part in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Ensure that regulatory obligations like BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC are followed.
• Fulfill any other responsibilities that are delegated.

Qualifications:

• A Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) is necessary.
• A minimum of 4 years and up to 6 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or business banking is preferred.
• Candidates should have a background of at least two years in portfolio management and/or underwriting for middle market clients.
• Sound comprehension of structuring loans and the accompanying documentation.
• Familiarity with financial principles in accounting and loan procedures.
• Awareness of regulations for loans at both the federal and state levels.

• Skillfulness in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong interpersonal and communication aptitude.
• Capacity to handle various responsibilities simultaneously and excel in high-pressure environments.

• Showing the skill to remain composed and maintain a professional demeanor under stress.

Work Environment:

• Extended periods of sitting or standing could be mandated.
• Routine interaction with computers and assessment of elaborate financial paperwork.
