Job Summary:

As an Underwriting Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting new loan originations and renewals related to mortgage warehousing, mortgage servicing rights, working capital lines of credit, and other commercial lending solutions. This role requires close partnership with lending officers to perform thorough credit evaluations and analyze transactions that may involve complex structures in a fast-paced environment.

A key component of this position is assessing loan structures, financial forecasts, legal entity documentation, collateral support, market intelligence, and industry analyses to determine underlying risk and develop recommendations for Credit Administration. Responsibilities include preparing deal summaries, assembling loan presentations, issuing administrative guidance, and supporting annual relationship assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate financial metrics and associated risk elements of financing requests in accordance with the bank’s credit policies and current market conditions.
• Review complex financial statements with interconnected components to compile accurate information for financing proposals submitted to senior leadership or the Loan Committee.
• Customer Interaction: Participate in virtual and on-site due diligence meetings at client offices or operational sites, engaging with existing and prospective customers alongside the sales team.
• Provide oversight and support to junior credit analysts by reviewing assignments, including compliance documentation and selected underwriting components.
• Collaborate with internal sales, processing, and treasury management teams to develop and maintain comprehensive banking relationships.

Qualifications:

• More than two years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• Working knowledge of core banking operations, including deposit services, loan administration, treasury management, and commercial banking products.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, legal standards, and industry best practices.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
